Due to the important meetings to attend in both Sri Lanka and France , Dr. Wijetunge's originally planned 4 day visit to UAE was rescheduled to May 30 and 31, 2011. for two days in Dubai.
During this visit he attended several meeeting and receptions at Royal Merdian Hotel; Emiratees High Strret Mall and Radlssion Blu Hotel in Dubai and met several Sri Lankans in leading positions in Dubai. Also Dr. Wijetunge attended a reception at the Consulate General of Sri Lanka for Dubai and Northern Emirates and had a fruitful discussion with Consul General His Excellancy M.M. Abdul Raheem about further cooperation between SUNFO and several lacks of Sri Lankans serving in Dubai.
Dr. Wijetunge explained about the first residential Child care center opened by SUNFO in Yatagala, Karandeniya for the female school going age children of migrant mothers. Dr. Wijetunge regrets the inablity to attend the proposed event organized by the Sri Lankan mission for him to meet officials of various key Sri Lankans Associations in Dubai, because he had to shorten his visit-but he offered all possible cooperation from SUNFO to the bettermant of migrant workers who are the key contributers of Sri Lankan Econommy and development of cooperation between people of Sri Lanka and People of Dubai, United Arabic Emirates.
