On the World non-violence day and Mahatma Gandhi's Birth Day Oct 2, a foundation stone was laid for a Mahatma Gandhi Monument at SUNFO Moratuwa.

Dr.M.T.Hemapala (SL-India Forum Councillor), Mrs.Chandrika Gunasekera (Advisor),Jeewanashuri Ms.Ranmali Gunawrdena (Youth Director) , Ms.Prema Ranawakaarachchi (Coordinator), Dr. Lukshanth Cristoper (GYSD Chief Coordinator) and Mr.Kelum Dissanayake (Cultural Coordinator) also Participated the event. Charted Architect Ranga Dayan Soysa has designed this momentum. This Gandhi momentum will be the Sri Lankas first Non-violence Gandhi momentum; uniting almost all 12 major religions of the world by symbolizing those.
